Unidad Dominicana is an organization,
established by Franklin Garcia, to serve as an
umbrella for unifying efforts for all the
Dominican-oriented organizations in the Greater
Washington DC Metropolitan area (Maryland,
Washington DC, and Virginia). Its objective
is to contribute to promote the work of
Dominican-oriented organizations and connect all
the member organizations by serving as a network
to assist the expansion of member organization's
outreach within all member organizations as well
as outside of the Dominican community. Unidad
Dominicana accomplishes its goal by hosting
meetings with organization's representatives,
assisting to promote organization's events
within member organizations, and participate in
cultural and social events promoting member
organizations. Membership is free and open to
all Dominican-oriented organizations, and its
membership varies depending on life of member
organizations and founding of new
Dominican-oriented organizations.
